Seton Catholic College was established in 1990 as a result of the amalgamation of De Vialar College Samson, conducted by the Sisters of St Joseph of the Apparition (SJA) and St Brendan’s College Beaconsfield, conducted by the African Mission Fathers (SMA).  Initially the College was operated across two campuses which came together on the De Vialar College site in 1995.

Ministry, at Seton Catholic College, is underpinned by the College Motto, Mission, Vision and Core Values. We work together to create a school community that is welcoming; where people care for each other, have a sense of unity and share common values based on the presence and teachings of Jesus.  Our School Motto, “Seek Christ”, must be translated into our daily lives.

We set out purposefully to develop a school culture that encourages students to use their talents and initiative, as well as providing them with guidance and courage to make informed choices in their lives. We have a responsibility to challenge the injustices that are all too readily accepted in our world. Catholic Identity is explored through the teaching and learning within the Religion and Life faculty and integrated throughout all subject areas. Students in Years 7-11 attend Retreats; Year 12 students participate in a residential Retreat.

We aim to develop an ever deepening relationship with Jesus within the community through involvement in activities that bring the Gospel message alive. The Student Ministry team, led by the College Ministry Captain and Campus Minister organises opportunities for Christian Service both within the College and in the wider community.
