Delany

Delany House pays homage to Bishop Daniel Delany, whose life's mission was to provide education to individuals regardless of their socioeconomic background, advocating for inclusivity within the Church. He fervently supported the involvement of lay women in religious activities, founding two teaching orders, The Brigidines and the Patricians. The theme of Delany House, Wisdom, mirrors Daniel Delany's dedication to education and the pursuit of knowledge. Its symbol, a flame, represents the Lamp of Learning and the presence of the Holy Spirit. The Delany House Cross, derived from the Brigidine Order established by Delany, further embodies his legacy.
