Having been appointed Principal at Seton Catholic College at the commencement of 2022, the 5th Principal to be appointed since De Vialar College and St Brendan’s College amalgamated to become Seton in 1990, I feel privileged to be charged with the responsibility to continue building on the solid foundations of those who have served Seton before me.
The culture at the College is one built on a holistic learning approach where both students and staff are agile, creative, innovative, entrepreneurial, collaborative people who think of “others” in the ever-changing world that we live in today. Seton has a learning environment of excellence, where the development of the whole child is at its focus in a Christ centred environment. Students learn, and staff work, in a very welcoming community where fostering the well-being and care of the students is at the forefront of all planning.
Seton has seen significant growth in recent years, becoming a school of choice, not only in our immediate catchment area, but beyond. New classrooms, learning spaces, quality teaching and well-founded pastoral care programs have solidified our reputation in the wider community. Seton’s thriving and happy environment is built upon the genuine connections between our staff, parents and students and is so often commented on when visitors attend our campus.
My philosophy as a Principal is to inspire Seton’s students and staff to find their passion in life and take the College values of respect, inclusion, service and excellence with them beyond their time at Seton. With the blessings of excellent staff, a connected community and students who exemplify all the values of this great school, Seton is bound towards a very bright future.
