Loyola
Loyola House pays tribute to Saint Ignatius of Loyola, a former soldier whose spiritual transformation occurred after being wounded in combat. During his recovery, Saint Ignatius felt called to serve Christ and pursued further education in his faith. Alongside a group of companions, he founded the Society of Jesus, also known as the Jesuits. Inspired by Saint Ignatius, the Jesuits established schools and colleges worldwide to impart knowledge and faith to youth. The theme of Loyola House is Inspiration, reflecting Saint Ignatius of Loyola's famous exhortation, "Go forth and set the world on fire." The Loyola House Cross, adapted from the Jesuits' Cross, symbolises their shared mission. Additionally, the symbol of Loyola House, an open book, represents Saint Ignatius' dedication to learning and his passion for education.
