The Year 12 Retreat takes place during term one each year. This forms an essential part of the Year 12 curriculum and as such is a compulsory event for all Year 12 students at Seton Catholic College.
The retreat involves an off-campus, residential, activities-based programme. The activities vary, but involve listening, drama, role-play, discussion, reflection, prayer, liturgy and the purposeful use of leisure time. The programme is sequenced so that students, working in both large and small groups, not only encounter the message of Jesus, but also the challenges of responding to it as a recipe for living. Emphasis is given to growth in self worth and an awareness of how God loves and values each person individually; to enable students to explore personal, spiritual dimensions and capacities; to develop an appreciation and respect for others, learning how to relate more openly and how to build community.
